This is my choice board I chose. It is based on the novel Things Fall apart by Chinua Achebe. The story deals with the rise all fall of Okonkwo, he is powerful, prideful and cold-hearted. However, Okonkwo is an impatience person. In the chapter I did the choice board, Okonkwo's gun exploded. The part of the gun pierced one of the elder's son body caused him to death. Okonkwo didn't understand what happened to him but his house was burned down, his animals were killed and he was expelled to other village.

For this semester, I did a short story writing. It can be about anything ,but has to be fiction ,so I wrote a psychological fiction. I was trying to make it unique, meaningful and simple but frustrated at the same time. It is based on my real-life. Mar 25th, 2017

Why? 2. What is your possible research title? Why? 3. Why do you think the topic is worthy writing for a research paper? 4. What are the possible benefits of your research paper? Plan: My interest area of research writing is psychology and zoology , because they are interesting and I often read the psychology and zoology books. I find psychology interesting because it's mysterious .My possible research title could be about different kind of phobias (fears) in people or about people who have phobias . Actually I want to write about the "good child syndrome" which is common in many children and teens , and the number of the children and teens who have good child syndrome is increasing everyday, but I couldn't find much information about it. I also want to write about animals behaviour ,maybe something related to pets at home, some pet's behaviours are weird and it's complicated for human to understand. The topic is worthy writing for a research paper because someone who read may have it but doesn't know, he or she may relized after reading of my research. If possible , I would like to write a topic that could be used in daily life and interesting ,so everyone even the people who are not into psychology or zoology can read it. read it. The benefits of my research paper are when people read it , they get information and they may use the information they read in their daily life. Write a reflection of 150-200 words responding to the following prompts 1. Reflect on how your writing skills have changed over the year. 2. What are the writing skills that you have improved so far? 3. What are the writing skills that you want to improve? It's almost a year now that I have studied in this school. I could feel lots improvement my writing skills. First of all, I can write a lot longer than before. When I'm in my previous school , the most I could write is only 100-150 words. When I came here , I have to do lots of journals , some of the topic were very interested to write and some are not. I don't like writing the journal topics that seems boring to me ,the reasons might be because I don't know what to write and how to make it completed the number of the assigned words. That makes me has to find more information ,try to arrange the sentence and add more words to make it longer. I would say that I'm more satisfied with my writing that before. I just want to learn English more to fix my mistakes in writing , learn harder words , and learn to arrange the sentences to make it more smooth and attractive to the readers. Write a short journal of 150-200 words responding to following prompts 1. Do you like joining Songkran festival? Why? 2. What do you usually do during the festival/holidays? 3. Do you have any good memories or bad memories about Songkran? Please share some of the stories 4. What did you learn from the stories?
Songkran festival is one of the most fascinating and attractive event of Thailand , it is on April , when summer comes. When I was young , I always wanted to play Songkran outside my own house. Because it's dangerous and there are more accidents happened on Songkran , my dad didn't allow me to go outside and splash water to other people. My family always travel somewhere faraway from Bangkok during Songkran season , but I don't really like it because travelling in Songkran day is exhausting and it's hot , I feel like my body is going to melt when I step outside my home. Then , when I grew up and I'm 12-13 yearsold , my dad allowed my brothers and sister to go outside to play Songkran but I couldn't. He said that I'm grown up now and I shouldn't play like a young kid. I was locked in a home while everyone go out to splash water , I felt very sad and jealous . Last two years I was a representative of Thailand to go to Taiwan and share Thai culture with them. There's a songkran festival where Taiwanese can come learn Thai culture and experienced Songkran festival ; however, the weather was too cold so we had to splash water indoor. It's a hard time cleaning up March 6th, 2017

Directions: Write a 250-300 word personal reflection on Unit 3: Academic Reading. Use the following prompts to guide you through the writing: 1. When it comes to academic reading, what do you think you can do best? Why? (e.g. identify main idea, understanding context clues, and formulating a topic, etc) 2. What are your weaknesses in academic reading? Why? 3. How can you improve those weaknesses? 3. Do you find academic reading useful for your life? If yes, in what ways? If no, why? When it comes to academic reading , formulating a topic is the easiest for me. When I got a formulating topic , it's like I'm going to name the book .And I love it because it seems interesting and it requires (a little?) creativity . Formulating a topic is easy because It's just reading the text to get the main point and what it is about , then use your own word to generate the topic . I can say that my weakest point in academic writing is I don't understand words meaning in the text . I have to guess the meaning of them , maybe because I didn't read or study much about hard words . My another weak point is I don't like reading. I don't like reading long text , especially long text with many numbers, text about economic and scientific text . I always skim those text without repeating reading. To improve those weakness , I think I should read more and more dictionaries and read more text with hard words . I'm going to read more academic text ,scientific text and economic text, maybe I'll understand and find them interesting.... I'm going to practice my overall reading skills , so I can read the text more quickly and understand the words. In my opinion , I find that academic reading is useful for summarizing text . I think the most useful academic reading skill is context clues , when I read novels , article or given text . It can be used in specific topic article , such as those science terms , or political terms. 20 Feb 2017 This is my types of contextual clues poster. Contextual clues are hint that author gives to help define the words with hard or difficult meanings. The author usually uses the differnt ways of giving a hint, there are 4 types of contextual clues that I could find...
1)Definition - the word is defined directly 2)Antonym - Using the antonym to contrast the word 3)Synonym - Other words are used in the sentence with similar meanings 4)Inference - Words are not directly described , but can be inferred from the text. Write a letter to a friend with the tone you selected.. Dear ... based on true story... I can clearly remember the day we spent together in our old school . You always asked me to lend you a pencil and paper for drawing , and you always lost it . Thinking of how many pencils you borrow me and lost , makes me feel really angry . Angry that I want to kick you for thousand times. The money I collect by not eating lunch to buy my new pencils , you don't even know I have to bear with hunger , you don't know how painful it is . Moreover , you asked me to give you my game console for free! Even you know it costs lots of money . Even in MUIDS you asked me for biology notes , math notes and exam tutoring . You promised that you'll review computer lessons for me , but you forgot and said you don't know how to do it! Now it's time for you to taste the pain I've suffered for a long time . I shall give you the most cruel , brutal ,ferocious , merciless and savage punishment when I see your face next time . I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU WANT FROM ME BUT I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU!!!! |
